New Castlerock Road Realignment Opening

Thursday 6th August 2026, motorists will begin using the new Castlerock Road realignment.

Key changes include:

• Traffic will be transferred from the existing eastern section of Castlerock Road to the new road alignment.
• The current eastern section of Castlerock Road, accessed from Kayuga Road, will be permanently closed.
• Access to the new Castlerock Road alignment will be via the original Dorset Road/Kayuga Road intersection.
• Directional signage will be installed to guide motorists through the new road arrangement.
• Muswellbrook Shire Council will manage all required public road closure notifications and traffic change notices.
